Do I need a reservation?
Yes. Reservations are required for all rides. We recommend booking online in advance, especially during peak season.

How much is the deposit?
A $50 non-refundable deposit per rider is required to reserve your ride. The remaining balance is due upon arrival.

Is the deposit refundable?
No. Deposits are non-refundable. If management determines that weather or trail conditions are unsafe, we will contact you to reschedule. Weather-related cancellations are determined solely at the discretion of Johnson’s Old Desperado Ranch Adventures LLC. No-shows or cancellations not related to management-determined weather conditions will forfeit deposits.

How many riders can you take at one time?
Our standard capacity is six riders per time slot. Larger groups may be accommodated upon request, depending on availability.

What is the weight limit?
The maximum rider weight is 240 pounds. This is for the safety and well-being of both our horses and riders.

What is the minimum age?
The minimum age is 12 years old. Exceptions may be considered for experienced younger riders at management’s discretion. All riders must be physically able to control their horse and wear a helmet.

Do I need riding experience?
No experience is necessary. Our horses are well-seasoned trail horses, and we provide instruction before departure. Riders must be physically capable of safely controlling a horse.

What should I wear?
• Closed-toe shoes or boots (required)
• Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activity
• Weather-appropriate attire
• Sunscreen and water are recommended in warmer months

Do you provide helmets?
Yes. Helmets are provided and strongly encouraged for all riders.

What time should we arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled ride time to allow for check-in and preparation.

What happens if it rains?
We ride in light rain. However, if weather or trail conditions are deemed unsafe, management will contact you to reschedule. Weather-related decisions are made solely at management’s discretion.

Do all riders need to complete a waiver?
Yes. Each rider must complete the online liability waiver prior to arrival. The waiver link will be sent in your booking confirmation email.

How do payments work?

What if someone exceeds the weight limit?
For the safety and protection of our horses, riders exceeding the 240 lb weight limit may not be permitted to ride.
